Autumn

Autumn is like a friend that stays behind to help you clean up after a party. It’s dependable and seldom disappoint. It promises rain and you’ll get rain.

It took me a long time to appreciate autumn. I love summer but it filled me with FOMO. There was always the pressure to do something, even though at times I’d rather do nothing.

Unlike in summer, I can’t run away from myself in autumn. I try to make peace with myself, so winter won’t be so tough on me.

When the night gets longer, I started to get ideas for writing. I finally get to sit down and edit the photos I took during the warmers days.

Autumn taught me about acceptance. It’s the time to enjoy the reward of harvest, for the hard work that we did in spring.
